For the past 7 years, she has been associated with Magical Theatre, a renowned Delhi-based company, as Co-Creative Director and Museum Expert. She stands at the forefront of reimagining how audiences engage with history, heritage, and knowledge through immersive digital environments.
An innovative curator and creative leader, Arunimaa brings deep expertise in conceptualizing and crafting interactive exhibits, multimedia installations, and experiential museum journeys. I have worked as a research head for at least 7 different permanent museums of the Government of India and a few other exhibitions as well, which showcase different facets of Indian history. Among all the managers, or curators, who were leading these projects Arunimaa Shanker Deb stands apart. She knows how to get the most out of the people in a manner which doesn’t sound rude yet remains authoritative. I worked with her for Rashtra Prerna Sthal, a museum dedicated to Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, at Lucknow in 2025. The time allotted for the project was not much and the government authorities were too strict for minute detailings as well as the timeline. Arunimaa ensured that all the people involved - research, architecture, designing, electrical, execution etc. worked in tandem smoothly. Whatever pressure came from the government departments and other authorities, she would absorb it on herself so that we could work with a peaceful mind. I wondered how someone can be so cool while dealing with so much pressure. I know it’s not good to be envious, but I do envy her for this quality.
